Amplify Creations Releases First Developer Diary Video for Fantasy RPG, DECAY OF LOGOS

Videogame publisher Rising Star Games has unveiled the first video in a series of ‘behind the scenes’ developer diary’s for Amplify Creations forthcoming third-person fantasy action-RPG Decay of Logos.

The first developer diary, ‘Evolving a Prototype,' Amplify Creations’ Ricardo Teixeira (Technical Artist/Producer) and André Constantino (Game Designer/Programmer) talk through the genesis of the project from early concept and how the game has bloomed and grown into something larger and more significant than any of the team could have anticipated.

Play Decay of Logos in person and get a hands-on demo this weekend in the Thunderful stand at EGX Berlin, September 28-30, 2018, in hall 7.


About Decay of Logos:
Decay of Logos is an immersive action role-playing game inspired by the developer’s love and passion for European folklore, high fantasy fiction and archetypal classic third-person action-RPG videogames. The game hails from the imagination of lead game designer and programmer André Constantino and is developed by award-winning independent software organization Amplify Creations.

The game sees players explore a vast interconnected world, packed with secret locations and items to discover. Adventurers will engage in challenging combat with other-worldly enemy constructs, and discover a world filled with arcane lore as they unravel the intricacies of the game’s various weapons, armor, inventory and level-up systems and mechanics.

Istanbul Challenges the Limits of Frogwares' City Generator for THE SINKING CITY

Ask any open-world game dev and they’ll tell you creating a digital city is a massive undertaking, often manually placing assets street by street. To help streamline the creation of Oakmont, the fictional 1920’s flooded metropolis in The Sinking City, Frogwares created their own city builder tool in Unreal Engine 4.

One of the brains behind the tool, Katerina Frolova, is a trained architect and level designer. Her design allows users to set a few urban planning variables inside the tool and then city districts can be generated at the click of a button. Something that normally takes weeks, can now be done in hours.

For an internal test of the tech, Frogwares asked fans on social media to vote from a list of iconic cities. The team would then see how big a district they could recreate within just 8 hours / 1 working day. Armed with buildings created earlier for The Sinking City and a Google Maps overlay of the winning city, Istanbul, the team got to work trying the speed and layout accuracy of the tool. 


After The Sinking City releases, the team plan to give the tool away for free for others to use.

ABOUT THE SINKING CITY: The Sinking City is an open world, open investigation game set in a Lovecraft universe. The player steps into the shoes of a private investigator who finds himself trapped in the city of Oakmont Massachusetts - a place suffering from unprecedented floods of supernatural origins. The player must uncover the source of whatever has taken possession of the city, and the minds of its inhabitants.

ZEUS' BATTLEGROUNDS Free-to-Play Battle Royale Available Today via Steam Early Access

Today at 6PM CET/10AM PDT, Zeus’ Battlegrounds, a free-to-play melee-based 100 player Battle Royale game, will launch on Steam in Early Access. The game has been in closed beta testing for months and is now ready to open up to a wider audience.

Anyone who logs into the game in the first week will be prompted to claim an in-game founder’s crown that once claimed, will be permanently attached to their account. The crown is not tradeable, so it will show other players that the crown-wearer was in the founding group of players for Zeus’ Battlegrounds.

Zeus’ Battlegrounds offers in-game cosmetic items for player character customization. The cosmetic items do not affect gameplay. The game also offers two season pass formats where players can progress through 50 levels of rewards. Season passes are priced at $9.99 for the standard tier and $19.99 for the premium tier. The premium tier season pass includes a 25 level boost and instantly grants a number of items to the player that can be achieved over the first half of the season. Players who do not participate in the season pass still have an opportunity to gain cosmetic items for playing and through in-game actions.
